Bank of China emittiert mit UBS Wertpapiere auf Ethereum (12.06.23)
Die Bank of China hat über ihre Investmentbank-Tochter BOCI tokenisierte Wertpapiere im Wert von 200 Millionen Chinesischen Yuan (28 Millionen US-Dollar) ausgegeben, die auf der Ethereum-Blockchain erstellt wurden. Dies macht BOCI zum ersten chinesischen Finanzinstitut, das eine tokenisierte Wertschrift in Hongkong ausgibt. Die UBS half bei der Entwicklung des Produkts für ihre Kunden im Asien-Pazifik-Raum mit. Parallel dazu hat die UBS die Tokenisierung über strukturierte Produkte, festverzinsliche Wertpapiere und Repo-Finanzierungen ausgebaut und im Dezember 2022 eine tokenisierte Festzinsanleihe im Wert von 50 Millionen Dollar unter englischem und Schweizer Recht ausgegeben. Zuvor hatte Hongkong den Zugang zu Kryptobörsen für Einzelhandelsnutzer geöffnet und plant, innerhalb eines Jahres ein Regelwerk für Stablecoin zu etablieren. (Quelle)
